Rapid development of artificial intelligence in business

Artificial Intelligence - Impact on Business

Automation of processes, the use of artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things are increasingly impacting businesses. Companies that can take advantage of the technology advantage will be able to better respond to the challenges of the future economy.

Increasing importance of automation and artificial intelligence in business

It is the automation of processes and the development of artificial intelligence that will have the greatest impact on the next decade. The key to the development of artificial intelligence will probably be quantum computers, which due to their architecture have a natural disposition for independent reasoning. Thanks to the dynamic development of quantum computer technology, new possibilities are opening up for us every day, including the development of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence – dynamic development of quantum technology

Just a month ago, we learned that for the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, American IBM built the first quantum computer in Europe. The system is called IBM Quantum System One and contains a 27-qubit processor. A week ago, New Scientist reported that Chinese scientists had created a Chinese quantum computer that was able to calculate a specific problem using 56 of the 66 available qubits.

The dynamic development of quantum technology can even stun some technology enthusiasts. Just five years ago, quantum computers had only 5 qubits, today there are tens of them. IBM has announced that in two years the fastest quantum systems will be based on 1000-qubit processors, and by the end of the decade, there may be millions of them. This is a new era in the development of artificial intelligence.

Quantum computers have the potential that supercomputers cannot have, but it should be remembered that they are still experimental, expensive, and fragile. Hybrid systems, where traditional computers work together with quantum computers, can help in this situation. This solution may be the most optimal in the near future according to industry experts.

Areas responsible for human capital will be able to focus on developing unique employee skills and respond to challenges posed by rapidly changing environment, conditions and labor market needs, thanks to automation.

What is artificial intelligence used for? Examples.

Automation and AI can be used not only to support scheduling, vacations and document creation, but also to assist in initial recruitment processes. Of course, such tasks should be supervised by a human.

In 2018, according to LinkedIn report, employers rated AI most useful in screening and filtering candidates. For HR departments, AI is simply crucial. In many time-consuming tasks, AI can help HR employees, indirectly contributing to improving working comfort, which is significant when it comes to Work-Life Balance.

Today, automation and AI can be not only a key part of the recruitment process, but also crucial in certifying the whole process. With machine learning, more and more tasks, especially repetitive ones, will be able to be transferred to AI-based solutions over time.

In the post-Covid reality, we cannot expect the order from before 2020, new challenges will arise every day for entrepreneurs, but to turn them into opportunities, the business world must take a big step forward towards digital transformation today.
